This is where most people stay, and where Victoria Falls is at its best value.
What you get at this level
A comfortable en-suite room with air conditioning, breakfast, a pool, secure parking, and somewhere pleasant to sit in the evening. Most properties are a short drive from the falls rather than walking distance, and most arrange transfers.
You are trading river frontage for money, and spending the difference on activities. A lot of experienced travellers do exactly this on purpose.

Kinds of property
Thatched lodges. The classic Victoria Falls format. Rooms around a garden and a pool, an open-sided bar and dining area, usually family-run or small-group owned.
Hotels. Larger, in or near town, with more facilities and more people. Good if you want a gym, conference space or a reliable buffet.
Guesthouses and B&Bs. Smaller and more personal. Often the best breakfasts.
Self-catering. Apartments and cottages with a kitchen. Sensible for families, longer stays, or anyone tired of restaurant food.
Pamusha sits here
We are a twenty-room lodge in a quiet residential part of town, 3.4km from the falls, with a pool, a fire pit, a 24-hour open-air restaurant and breakfast included.
We are not the fanciest place in Victoria Falls and have never pretended to be. What we are is comfortable, genuinely welcoming, and run by people who also run your trip.
