Most people arrive in Victoria Falls having booked a room somewhere and nothing else. Then they spend the first evening at reception, or on their phone, trying to work out how to see the falls, get on the river, and cross into Botswana without missing a flight.
It usually works out. But it works out expensively, and with a lot of standing around.
What a ground handler actually is
A ground handler is the company that takes responsibility for you between the airport and the airport. Not the airline, not the individual activity operator, but the team coordinating the whole thing on the ground.
In practice that means one person who knows your flight number, your dates, which activities you have booked, what time each one collects you, and what happens if the river closes the rafting.
We do this alongside running the lodge, which is unusual. Most places in Victoria Falls do one or the other.
What changes
The timings actually fit together. A sunset cruise and a helicopter flight on the same afternoon sounds fine until you realise one collects at 15:30 and the other is allocated a 16:00 slot. We see the clash before you book it.
Someone owns the problem. When a flight is delayed, or an activity cancels for weather, or the border is slow, there is one number to call rather than four separate operators each pointing at the others.
Your day is not built around collection times. Activities each send their own vehicle, and if you have booked four things from four companies you spend your holiday waiting in reception. Coordinated, it is one vehicle and a plan.
You do not miss things. Plenty of guests never hear about the walking safari, or the bridge tour, or that Devil’s Pool is running that month, because nobody told them.
What to ask whoever you book with
Whether you use us or not, these are worth asking:
Who collects me, and at what time? Is that time fixed or does it move with the season? What happens if this activity cannot run? Are park fees included or do I pay on arrival? If I book two things in one day, do they clash?
Anyone who cannot answer those quickly is not handling your ground arrangements. They are forwarding your booking.

Worth saying plainly: we have twenty rooms, and sometimes they are full, or sometimes they are not what someone wants. Victoria Falls has everything from campsites and backpacker accommodation through self-catering and bed and breakfasts to five-star hotels and luxury tented camps.
We will place you where it suits you and still handle everything else. That is the job.
